Abel E. Bello, MD, FACS, FASMBS, attended the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, and received his medical degree in 2005. Then, he served his internship in the Dominican Republic prior to relocating to the United States. Furthermore, he conducted his general surgery residency at St. Luke’s – Roosevelt Hospital Center in New York City and Northside Medical Center in Youngstown, OH. In addition, he completed his fellowship training in advanced minimally invasive surgery / bariatric surgery at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland. Dr. Bello received board certification in general surgery and bariatric surgery from the American Board of Surgery. He is a member of the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons, the American Medical Association, the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, the American Hernia Society, and the Society of Laparoscopic Surgeons.
